FAQ

GPS tracking nock FAQ

Straight answers about Nockout. If a number isn’t tested yet, we say so.

Product

What is Nockout?

A nock with a GPS tracker built in, for bow arrows and crossbow bolts. After the shot, the app shows you where your arrow or bolt is.

Is it available now?

Not yet. Nockout is in development, and we're launching on Kickstarter. Join the waitlist to hear first.

Does it light up?

Yes. Nockout has a built-in green LED that glows through the nock, so you can follow your shot in flight and spot it in low light. With the app, you'll also be able to flash it when you're close.

How far away can it be found?

We'll publish tested range numbers once the hardware is final.

Compatibility

Which arrows and bolts does it fit?

We're building two versions: a half-moon nock for crossbow bolts and a slotted nock for bow arrows. We'll publish a tested compatibility list before the campaign.

Does it work with compound bow arrows?

Yes. Nockout is being built for both bow arrows and crossbow bolts. Tell us what you shoot through the contact page, so we test the setups hunters actually use.

Is it legal to use while hunting?

Rules vary. Some states and provinces restrict electronic devices on arrows or bolts. Check your local regulations before using Nockout in the field.

Is it safe to shoot?

Production Nockout nocks will be tested on bows and crossbows before shipping. Never shoot a prototype or a 3D-printed nock.

Kickstarter

Why Kickstarter?

It lets us fund the first production run with hunters who want it, instead of investors.

What happens if the campaign isn't funded?

On Kickstarter, backers aren't charged unless a project reaches its goal.

App

Do I need a phone?

Yes, the Nockout app on your phone shows where your arrow or bolt is.

Are my hunting spots private?

Yes. Your locations are visible only to you, are never shared or sold, and you can delete your history anytime.
